From the North or South take the M1 to junction 39, signed to Wakefield and Denby Dale.

From the South: at the end of the slip road turn right (third exit) towards Wakefield on the A436

From the North: at the end of the slip road turn left (first exit) towards Wakefield on the A436

Follow the dual carriageway to the first roundabout (200m) Go straight over, continuing along the dual carriageway.

At the next roundabout turn right (fourth exit), following the main signs for Barnsley and the local signs for Sandal on the A6186.

After approximately 1 mile you will approach two mini roundabouts. (Asda on the left is a good landmark). Keep in the left hand lane and go straight at the first one and turn left at the second one.

Take the first right (after 50m) and then the first left and first left again into the Sandal Castle Centre forecourt.
