EXTERNAL SALES ENGINEER / TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER

Due to expansion there is an External Sales opportunity at one of UK’s leading specialist Electrical Distributors, located in and around their Wakefield branch to manage existing accounts and develop new business across the Teeside and Tyneside areas. You will have the full support of a strong internal sales and an excellent reputation in the marketplace.
The role encompasses all aspects of the supplying Electrical Control and Automation products into existing and new customers; principally this includes 80% face to face sales yet will require applying what is learnt through the extensive training and past experience to offer a solution. The company is well known for being a solutions provider distributing electrical products from some of the world’s leading manufacturers, i.e. Mitsubishi Electric and Group Schneider. BPX is looking for polite, customer faced and enthusiastic candidates with a can do attitude to help uphold over 40 years of reputation based on the concept of distribution is a local business built upon personal relationships.
Planning visits to existing and new accounts will be regularly done jointly with manufacturer area sales managers or BPX own fleet of seniors to grow the business and build competency for the first couple of years. Sales and progress will be communicated via Customer Relation Management software to produce reports on monthly basis of which will be sent to immediate line managers. Full training will be provided.

A qualification in Engineering or equivalent by experience.

1+ year sales experience would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.

An ability to communicate effectively both face to face, on the phone and via e mail.

Computer literacy, in particular MS Office applications.
Key skills including planning, time management, prioritization, self motivation, to be able to work independently and as a team is an essential quality for this role.
