THE BPX GROUP STATEMENT ON EU DIRECTIVE
2002/95/EC (RoHS)
The BPX Group has a policy of continuous environmental
improvement and is committed to working
closely with both our suppliers and customers to
achieve this goal.
The Company has placed great importance on ensuring that products we
supply comply with RoHS & WEEE directives well in advance of the
statutory deadlines.
What types of products are affected?
The RoHS Directive applies to the following 8 categories of goods:

household appliances |
| Small
household appliances |
| IT
and telecommunications equipment |
| Consumer
equipment |
| Lighting
equipment (incl. lightbulbs and household luminaires) |
| Toys,
leisure and sports equipment |
| Automatic
dispensers |
| Electrical
tools |
** RoHS does not apply to fixed industrial plant
or to individual components. In pratical terms however, manufacturers
of products listed in the table above require "compliant products"
**
The BPX environmental road map includes attaining certification to
ISO14000.
As a major distributor of Industrial Automation and Electrical Control
products BPX does not manufacture or design the products we sell. Nevertheless,
we will endeavor where possible to source products solely from manufacturers
whose production processes do not add or contain the following banned
substances as outlined in the RoHS directive.
Banned substances
• Cadmium (Cd)
• Hexavalent Chromium (CrVI)
• Lead (Pb)
• Mercury (Hg)
• Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
• Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
