BPX Brexit Position

The UK government has passed legislation that requires the UK to leave the European Union (EU) after 31st October. Presently the circumstances of international trade after that date are unclear.

BPX are closely monitoring the changing political, economic and trading outlook. We are also in frequent dialogue with our supplier partners to assess and support their ability to continue supply in the event that trading with EU countries becomes interrupted. As a responsible supplier we are making sensible preparations to continue our own operations as normally as possible in the event of the various likely outcomes. In order to do this we have already substantially increased our stock levels of fast moving and regularly sold items and continue to review and increment our stock levels.

We are seeing increased demand as customers place orders to meet anticipated requirements and would encourage any customers with firm requirements after November 1st to place orders well in advance of the October deadline and to discuss any scheduling of deliveries with their regular BPX contact. We would also respectfully ask customers who have specific concerns about the supply of any particular items after October 31st to get in touch with their BPX account manager, local branch or to our head office to discuss all of the available options.

BPX employs a number of staff from EU countries other than the UK and we are supporting those colleagues throughout the Brexit process. We remain confident that they will retain their right to work in the UK but recognise that it is an especially worrying time for them and their families.

As the political situation develops we will issue further statements when appropriate via our website at www.bpx.co.uk but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us either at our local branches or to our head office below.
